Privacy notice
The short version: we collect as little as we can get away with, we do not track you around the internet, and the details of your family never leave your own browser.

Your family details stay on your device
The number of adults, your children's ages, your home town, your travel-time setting and anything you save with the heart button are stored in your own browser's local storage. They are not sent to us, they are not in a database, and clearing your browser data removes them completely.
What we do hold
Offer alerts
If you sign up for alerts we store your email address, the town you chose, the categories you ticked, the fact that you consented and when. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string as a record that the consent was genuine and to deal with abuse. We do not store the IP address itself.
The lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us, and we will delete the record.
Venue enquiries
If you send us an offer to list, we keep what you typed into the form so we can reply and set the listing up. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry.
Server logs
Our web server and our CDN keep short-lived request logs for security and diagnostics. These are deleted on a rolling basis and are not used to build a profile of you.
What we do not do
- No advertising or analytics trackers, and no third-party scripts beyond the web font.
- No cookies for tracking. The site sets no analytics or advertising cookies at all.
- No selling, renting or sharing of your details with anyone for marketing.
Web fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and they will see your IP address as part of that. Everything else on the page is served by us.
Who else sees it
Email is sent through Postmark, and our mailboxes are hosted by Migadu. The site and its CDN run on infrastructure we operate. Each of those providers processes data on our instructions only.
How long we keep it
Alert subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Venue enquiries are kept for up to two years unless a listing goes ahead.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our using it. Email hello@kidsgofree.co.uk and we will respond within a month. If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is written for parents and carers, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13, and the only thing we ever ask about a child is an age — never a name.
